Celebrating National Inclusion Week
Celebrating National Inclusion Week
As we kick off National Inclusion Week, starting Monday the 23rd of September, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces. At Leapfrog, inclusion means valuing each individual's unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions. This year, we’re focusing on how a personalised approach in recruitment can make a significant impact.
Why Personalisation Matters
Inclusion in recruitment means recognising that every candidate has different needs. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work. We take the time to understand and accommodate diverse requirements to ensure each candidate feels supported.
Tailored Support for Success
As always, our recruitment team carefully tailors the recruitment process to accommodate each candidate’s unique needs. This approach is also beneficial when a candidate has a disability or alternate need, whether this means the candidate requires specific adjustments in place at work, flexibility in working style or help advocating their strengths during the interview process.
Fiona Wright, Associate Director, shared a story about a talented candidate with a neurodevelopmental disability. Fiona accompanied the candidate on their interview, explaining their needs but most prevalently their abilities and skills to the client. This personalised approach aided a smooth experience for both parties and assisted in a successful and happy placement of a candidate.
Educating Clients for Inclusive Hiring
We also work with clients to help them understand the benefits of inclusive hiring practices, providing guidance on creating more inclusive job descriptions and suggesting accommodations to make placements successful for both clients and candidates.
Training and Development for our Team
Our commitment extends to our own team. We provide ongoing training on diversity and inclusion, ensuring that everyone involved in the recruitment process is knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of diverse candidates.
