Welcome to the Team, Savannah!
Meet Savannah Silva, Recruitment Consultant, here at Leapfrog.
We had the opportunity to chat with Savannah about her career, what her role involves, and her life outside of work. Savannah, who joined us in June, has quickly become an essential part of our team.
What made you join Leapfrog?
I loved the idea of being responsible for the full cycle of the recruitment process. Having been one of Fiona's candidates, I experienced firsthand how seamlessly she guided me through the process. Her approach was impressive and effortless and subsequently, inspired me to pursue a career with Leapfrog.
What your job involves:
Supporting candidates, job matching, issuing job offers, negotiating contracts and developing recruitment strategies.
How did your career lead you to your current position?
I began my career as an Assistant Recruitment Officer for the civil service. Following that, I moved into a role as a Voice Teacher. After some time spent travelling, I returned to Guernsey and recommenced at the civil service as a HR Recruitment Officer. In this role, I particularly enjoyed focusing on the onboarding process but ideally, I wanted to move into a role where I could be responsible for the full cycle of the recruitment process.
Most enjoyable part of working at Leapfrog/your job?
I really enjoy regularly meeting people from all different backgrounds.
What qualifications do you have?
I am a qualified vocal coach and hold a diploma in Contemporary Voice Teaching. I also have a CertHE in Music Industry Practice.
Proudest moment in life to date?
I’ve completed a skydive which I’m pretty proud of!
Dream job when you were little?
I wanted to be a singer/popstar. I would even prepare performances and gather all my family to the living room to watch me sing and dance. Born an entertainer, I guess!
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I have a real passion for music. You will often find me by the piano songwriting but if I’m not doing that, I love playing netball, travelling, and socialising with friends and family.
Business/personal goals you’re working towards?
I would like to undertake the Level 3 & 4 Certificate in Recruitment Practice (CertRP and DipRM).
Job in three words…
Gratifying, Enjoyable, Dynamic.
One thing you’d take to a desert island with you?
We’re in 2024 so I’m going to assume that there’s service on this desert island so I would take my phone, but, if for some strange reason, there isn’t service, I would take an endless supply of water.
