Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Providing cover and assistance to Medical Secretaries to support doctors.
Managing prescription requests and patient queries efficiently.
Coordinating home visit requests and ensuring they are assigned appropriately.
Assigning documents to patient medical records and maintaining accurate record-keeping.
Handling correspondence received from GPs and third parties.
Answering telephone calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
Maintaining and updating schedules, patient records, and appointment lists.
Rescheduling GP appointment lists in case of absence or holiday leave.
Providing assistance to patients with queries and general support.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a secretarial or administrative role, preferably within a medical or busy office environment. Strong interpersonal and telephone skills, a friendly and professional approach, and the ability to work independently are essential. A good knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills is desirable, along with GCSE-level education or equivalent. Flexibility, confidentiality, and a strong team-oriented attitude are key attributes for success in this role.
