Commercial In-House Lawyer

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified legal professional to join a leading telecoms and technology business. This broad in-house role involves advising on a wide range of commercial and regulatory legal matters, supporting business units in multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Providing legal and commercial advice to stakeholders across the organisation, with a focus on risk mitigation.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts, including software licensing, IT services, consultancy and supplier agreements.
Supporting product and sales teams with legal input into new business services and managing contracts through their full lifecycle.
Handling legal aspects of managed services, data centre, and telecommunications agreements.
Managing disputes and litigation, where applicable.
Advising on data protection and GDPR compliance and supporting the Group DPO.
Contributing to regulatory matters including licence reviews, security frameworks, and legislative interpretation.
Maintaining and updating legal templates and group-wide standard agreements.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer (UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man or similar) with at least six years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained in-house or within a regulated industry such as telecoms or technology. They will bring excellent drafting skills, a pragmatic commercial mindset and the ability to manage a wide-ranging workload with confidence. Knowledge of data protection, intellectual property and regulatory compliance is desirable, as is a proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across business teams.
