Our client, an independent and privately owned Guernsey-regulated family office, is seeking an experienced Head of Governance & MLRO to lead and enhance its governance team. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic, client-focused environment while supporting Ultra High Net Worth individuals globally.

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Acting as MLRO, staying abreast of regulatory changes and managing disclosures with the FIS.
Designing and implementing internal policies, procedures, and compliance measures.
Managing relationships with external compliance providers and overseeing amendments.
Participating in key committees, including risk, policies, and new business.
Reviewing and approving high-risk transactions and maintaining bespoke management plans.
Monitoring and conducting risk and periodic reviews, ensuring timely follow-up actions.
Overseeing data protection as the appointed Data Protection Officer.
Providing training, mentorship, and leadership to the governance team.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of finance industry experience (including a prescribed position), and a relevant qualification (e.g., ICA). They will be tech-savvy, highly organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled at building strong relationships.
