As a People Business Partner, you will play a vital role in managing employment relations and contributing to exciting, significant projects within a dynamic retail environment. You will leverage your expertise to ensure compliance with employment regulations, including Guernsey Discrimination Law, while fostering a collaborative workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes, including drafting contracts and managing recruitment tracking.
Advising managers on HR policies, performance management, and employment relations, including disciplinary and grievance matters.
Acting as the main HR contact in the HR Business Manager’s absence and addressing queries efficiently.
Managing case records, liaising with trade unions, and conducting investigations or hearings when required.
Overseeing leaver processes, conducting exit interviews, and addressing trends in leaver data.
Assisting with workforce planning, remuneration processes, and absence management strategies.
Reviewing and improving HR processes, policies, and templates.
Delivering HR performance reports and supporting employee engagement initiatives.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be CIPD Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) with a solid understanding of HR processes, employment laws, and at least 3 years' experience in an HR generalist role, including handling employment relations cases. They will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, a practical knowledge of relevant legislation in Jersey and Guernsey, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems. Retail environment experience is advantageous for this role.
