Our client is seeking a Loss Control Surveyor to perform underwriting risk assessments and provide expert insights into managing risk across domestic, high-net-worth, farming, and commercial clients. This role is integral to ensuring effective risk mitigation, supporting underwriting decisions, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Conducting underwriting risk surveys to identify property and liability risk improvements for a range of clients through site visits and remote assessments.
Producing professional technical reports to guide insurance decisions, including quotations, renewals, or declinations.
Providing consultancy services to clients and stakeholders, offering solutions to mitigate risks and reduce potential losses.
Researching and developing technical guidance to enhance knowledge across teams, including underwriting and claims.
Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, sub-brokers, and internal teams to ensure objectives are met and services are effectively delivered.
Managing workloads efficiently to meet service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Supporting short-term projects or activities as directed by the Head of Underwriting.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of risk management and loss prevention across diverse insurance risks, experience in commercial surveying or consulting, and a background in underwriting, claims, or commercial engineering. Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with an ACII qualification (or progress towards it) and a valid driving licence.
