Our client is seeking a driven and meticulous Senior Credit Risk Officer to support its Risk Management function. This role is instrumental in overseeing and executing a wide range of risk-related responsibilities, ensuring the organisation operates within a robust risk management framework. Reporting directly to the Risk Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and non-financial risks.

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation’s risk management framework.
Contributing to the development of governance structures to enhance risk oversight and controls.
Identifying and assessing key risks, both financial and operational, and developing mitigation strategies.
Implementing methodologies for risk identification, assessment, and analysis to manage emerging risks effectively.
Monitoring the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and escalating issues as necessary.
Conducting risk assessments, analysing internal risk factors, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Performing risk audits and reviews to ensure proper controls are in place and processes remain relevant.
Preparing and presenting risk dashboards and reports to the Risk Committee on a quarterly basis or as required.
Providing support to team members, offering guidance on risk-related matters and best practices.

Skills / Qualifications

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar risk management role and hold an academic qualification in Risk, Economics, Banking, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics. A recognised Risk Management qualification is highly advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel’s advanced analysis tools, including lookup functions, data forecasting, and trend analysis, is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are also key attributes for this role.
