Our client is a highly respected, independent business based in Guernsey, providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to private, corporate, and institutional clients. Known for their commitment to excellence and innovation, they are searching for a competent Client Accountant to join them.

Responsibilities

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
Preparing statutory and non-statutory financial reports in line with client, internal, and regulatory deadlines.
Assisting tax colleagues with the preparation of Guernsey and UK tax returns, as well as VAT returns.
Providing support and guidance on client record-keeping and financial reporting.
Adhering to internal practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Managing your workload effectively, focusing on chargeable time, and maintaining accurate records.
Assisting colleagues with accounting queries and ensuring exceptional client service.
Understanding client acceptance procedures and associated risk management processes.
Preparing for and attending client meetings, ensuring follow-up on action points.
Producing professional, accurate, and timely written communications.
Continuously developing your skills and working towards performance goals.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least three to four years of experience in an accounting environment, complemented by a relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CAT, or AAT). You will be detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with strong communication skills and a commitment to exceptional client service. Experience with financial reporting systems, such as ACUMEN, is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
